The 5G: Share of voice report analyse the leading companies among the conversations of 5G Influencers on Twitter, which are tracked by GlobalData’s Social Media Platform, on the 5G topic over 180 days period. These 5G leaders include Telecom service providers and Infrastructure providers across the globe.
To summarize, the overall ‘5G’ topic saw marginal jump (14%) in Influencer conversations during the selected time-period (Jun-Nov 2021) over the previous 180 days. Among Telco service providers, Verizon appeared as most mentioned service provider among Influencer conversations on 5G topic. The company saw huge conversation spike around the 5G controversy around Verizon’s 5G rollout, which has delayed over FAA’s airplane safety concerns.
Bob O’Donnell shared his expert opinion on 5G controversy, saying, “While #5G spectrum stories are complicated, what's strange about this delay of @ATT & @Verizon's first C Band-based service is that it's based on the A Block of frequencies, which doesn't even come close to the frequencies that the FAA says are a problem”
AT&T has appeared next among 5G discussions, followed by T-Mobile and Vodafone.
Among Telecom Infrastructure providers, Ericsson appeared as most mentioned player. The Influencer conversations on Ericsson saw a huge spike during the company’s 5G Things Summit. Several of them attended the event as well.

Huawei and Qualcomm were next most mentioned Telecom Infrastructure providers among 5G Influencers on Twitter. For Huawei, the conversations spiked during the Huawei’s Global Mobile Broadband Forum event, while Qualcomm saw conversation spike during its Investors Day event.
