The US technology industry registered a 3.0% rise in IT hiring activity in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
The industry’s overall hiring decreased by 0.53% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.
Out of the technology industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 24.87% share in June 2021, recording an increase of 1.27% over the last three-month average share.

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 96.15% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US technology industry in June 2021.

Top five technology companies in the US IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 0.58% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US technology industry during June 2021 over May 2021.
International Business Machines posted 1,360 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a rise of 5.59% over the previous month, followed by Capgemini with 810 jobs and a 20.54% growth. HCL Technologies with 768 IT jobs and Dell Technologies with 744 jobs, recorded a 13.44% growth and a 1.36% increase, respectively, while AT&T recorded a 30.04% decline with 666 job postings during June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 54.66%, down by 17.63% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 35.84% share, a growth of 33.25% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.65% share, up 37.31% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.84%, recording a month-on-month an increase of 9.09%.
