The patent US11983109B2 outlines a method and system for efficiently caching air freight rate data. The process begins with transforming the air freight rate data into a suitable format for a first-level cache, which is identified as a Redis cluster. The method involves data sharding based on the origin and destination cities of flights, creating data shards that include both indivisible and divisible subsets of the air freight rate data. Each data node in the shards contains a complete copy of the indivisible data and a subset of the divisible data, which is organized into smaller data subsets. These shards are then committed and stored in a second-level cache, specified as a Linux kernel-level shared memory.

Additionally, the system incorporates mechanisms for handling incremental data updates. When a piece of air freight rate data is accessed from the second-level cache, the system checks for any incremental data in the first-level cache. If such data exists, it is read and processed using a preset fusion algorithm to ensure consistency between the two caches. This algorithm includes operations for discarding, deleting, modifying, and inserting data based on the nature of the incremental updates. The overall design aims to enhance the efficiency and reliability of air freight rate data management, facilitating quicker access and improved data integrity.
