Luxury Airbnbs are changing the game.
Initially equated with couch surfing and cheap single-rooms, Airbnb did not always have a glamorous reputation.
However, now it is host to some of the most luxurious (and expensive) homes, allowing you to stay in the world’s most beautiful locations — if you have the budget for it.
Here are seven of the most luxurious Airbnbs in the world.
Dreaming Villa — Florence, Italy
Nestled high in the hills of Florence, the villa overlooks Firenze and the Brunelleschi Cupola.

By GlobalDataReportedly belonging to the Medici family in the 15th century, the 900 square metre villa consists of seven bedrooms, a pool, solarium, garden, gazebos, private parking and a chapel (that can seat 30 guests).
Prices range begin at $2,800 per night.
Riad Farnatchi — Marrakesh, Morocco
Converted by the current owner’s father, Riad Farnatchi was designed as a perfect space for celebrations like weddings and birthdays.
Consisting of 10 bedrooms, a 24 strong staff, a rooftop terrace, 24 hour service, a full service spa, massage rooms and a marble Turkish bath, Farnatchi is ideal for a family get together.
Rooms go for $3,800 per night.
3. Casa Kalika, Punta de Mita — Mexico
Described as a “zen tropical retreat”, this five-bedroom home offers views of the Bay of Banderas, the Sierra Madre mountains, and the Marietas Islands.
The house comes with a staff of four (cook, butler, housekeeper, manager) as well as a concierge who is available to book all reservations — whether that be whale-watching, surfing, kayaking, scuba diving, or horseback riding.
Rooms can be rented for $3,700 per night.
Nafsika Estate, Greece — Santorini
Perched high above the seaside village of Megalochori, the Nafsika Estate looks down from the top of a hill to a breath taking view of the sea below and the surrounding islands.
Built in lieu with the white Cycladic architecture synonymous with Grecian aesthetic, the estate is luxurious yet minimalistic.
Though the $6,700 per night price tag does not include the available yoga classes, poolside massage or private chef, it does get you the five bedroom estate with outdoor kitchen, pool and helipad.
Loire Valley Chateau, Champagne — France
This 15 bedroom Chateau offers a heated pool, tennis court, 50 hectares of grounds, library, a sauna in a cabin lodge and bicycles to explore the grounds.
Though only containing bedding for 19 people, the chateau can accommodate up to 32 and can be booked in its entirety. It is not cheap however, with prices at £7,382 per night.
Everview, Cape Town — South Africa
At the (relatively) low price of $750 per night, the Everview Suite in Camps Bay, Cape Town offers a beautiful retreat that boasts expansive views of the Atlantic Ocean and Table Mountain.
The space consists of three bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, a pool and an expansive, open plan living room.
Seascape, Saint Barthélemy — the Caribbean
The ocean-view villa spreads out over more than 7,000 square feet, the gym, kitchen and six spacious bedrooms all offering views of the sea below, the latter coming with their own balconies or decks.
The beach can be reached via a rocky path, or there is the villa’s own infinity pool to relax in.
Rooms go from $3,300 per night.
