Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer collaborated with the Muhammad Ali Center last year to develop the “Tribute to Muhammad Ali” Carrera Calibre 5 limited edition timepiece.

A year on since the late great boxer’s passing, the company is still working with the non-profit to raise money for charitable causes and pay tribute to one of the sporting world’s greatest of all time.

TAG Heuer: Muhammad Ali Special Edition collaboration event

TAG Heuer will be launching their latest collaboration with the Muhammad Ali Center tomorrow (10 October) at an exclusive event in London, England.

The event will be taking place at the new state-of-the-art BXR London boxing gym.

The swanky venue lists the likes of heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua among its investors. Promoter Eddie Hearn and music producer Mark Ronson are also involved.

Other than that, TAG Heuer has done well to keep the details of the launch under wraps.

The luxury brand is likely to attract some big names. Likewise, some of the stars of the sports world will also turn out to honour The Greatest. Previous TAG Heuer/Muhammad Ali Center events have attracted the likes of boxing greats Evander Holyfield and Julio César Chavez.

Confirmed to be attending tomorrow evening are former rugby player Kenny Logan and former Spice Girl Geri Horner. Likewise, Larry Holmes, the only man to have stopped Ali during his spectacular career, will also be in attendance.

In the lead up to the event, TAG Heuer announced that they were auctioning a signed portrait of the boxing icon and a pair of special edition gloves. The winning bid raised $5,000 for charity, with all proceeds donated to the Muhammad Ali Center.

This isn’t the first time that the watchmaker has auctioned off items to raise money for the center. A limited edition gold Carrera Calibre 5 sold for $119,000 at last year’s event.

TAG Heuer has yet to reveal exactly what they will be launching at tomorrow’s event. However, according to the Daily Mail, Muhammad Ali will be commemorated with a new £2,000 limited edition timepiece.
