I’ve been writing about film festivals a lot recently.
For the first time in a long time, 2017 has ushered in a really exciting range of films that haven’t all been sequels and movie universes. However, while we can stand around and applaud Hollywood for starting to do well again, TV has been doing it for ages.
The phrase ‘golden age’ has often been thrown around in recent years when discussing television. With series like Game Of Thrones, Westworld, Stranger Things, and the incredible Marvel TV universe, there’s never been a better time to be watching television. Prestige drama is back with a vengeance.
So it seems only fitting to cover a festival that honours TV as an artform. The Tribeca Television Festival starts on 22nd September and lasts until 24th September. Sure, it’s not as massive in scope as some of the film festivals, but this is it’s first year.
As you might expect, the Tribeca Television Festival comes from the same minds behind the Tribeca Film Festival. The content is also reasonably similar. Attendees will get the chance to take an early look at some of this fall’s biggest TV premieres. In addition, there’ll be panel discussions with the creators and stars!
Tribeca Television Festival: everything you need to know –
When? – 22nd-24th September. 4pm onwards on 22nd and 23rd, 2.30pm onwards on 24th.
