After weeks of writing about non-stop film festivals, here’s something a bit different.
New York Comic Con 2017 is descending on the Big Apple on 5-8 October. While it’s not quite as big as its San Diego cousin, New York Comic Con should be pretty great nonetheless! It might not be worthwhile to get your hopes up for a big reveal from Marvel or DC, especially in terms of movies, but there should be lots to enjoy anyway.
Still, even though there aren’t any major appearances from the major comic book movies, there should be plenty to see. We’ll get to some of the most interests panels and talks in a bit but rest assured, there’s lots to do.
As ever, we’ve collected everything you need to know. So, without further ado, here we go:
New York Comic Con 2017
When?
New York Comic Con takes place between 5 and 8 October. The show floor is open from 10am to 7pm except Sunday 8 October where the show floor closes at 5pm. Panels take place from 10.30am to 10.00pm. Again, the exception is Sunday 8 October where panels end at 5pm.
Where?
The majority of New York Comic Con 2017 will take place in the Javits Center. The full address is 655 W 34th St, New York, NY 10001, USA. However, since the show is so big a few events will be held off-site at the following venues:

How do I buy tickets?
Tickets could be bought from the official website here. Unfortunately, they are now sold out. However, if you have got your hands on tickets then you need to get Fan Verification before you can use them. This requires you to fill out a short form, just to prove you’re not a scalper. Hopefully this will keep ticket prices down and ensure more real fans get access to them.
What is there to see on the show floor?
As with any comic con, there’s going to be plenty of cosplayers and stars wandering around. Why not ask if you can snap a picture with them?
Also on the show floor, there’ll be various booths from comic book companies, merchandise sellers, and artists, where you can buy stuff, get things signed, and take photos. The companies who are hosting booths can all be found here. There’s even a few exclusive items that you won’t be able to get your hands on elsewhere!
New York Comic Con 2017 guests?
There are loads. Like, there are loads. R.L Stine, Peter Capaldi, Andrew Lincoln, Josh Hutcherson, Greg Sulkin, Rosario Dawson Billie Piper, Mark Hamill, and plenty more will be putting in appearances. In fact, there’s so many that New York Comic Con has divided them up into sections:

What should I go and see?
There is literally so much to choose from it might be tricky to work out what to see. You can find the full list here. However, if you want to see some of the panels that are sure to generate headlines, here’s our picks.
