IT jobs accounted for a 28.65% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2021, registering a decrease of 1.61% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 72.04% in September 2021, a 2.05% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 10.49% in September 2021, marking a 6.72% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 8.91% in September 2021, a 2.61% rise from August 2021.

Top five technology companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 11.42% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s technology industry during September 2021 over previous month.
DXC Technology posted 1,117 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a decline of 7.53% over the previous month, followed by Capgemini with 720 jobs and a 0.98% growth. Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson with 435 IT jobs and Devoteam with 391 jobs, recorded a 16.83% drop and a flat growth, respectively, while Ozon recorded a 31.76% increase with 390 job postings during September 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s technology industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s technology industry IT hiring activity with an 18.21% share in September 2021, a 4.88% decrease over August 2021. Switzerland featured next with a 12.4% share, up 2.58% over the previous month. Germany recorded a 10.32% share, a drop of 10.92% compared with August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.22%, down by 3.94% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 17.31% share, registered a decline of 0.27% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.05% share, up 1.62% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.42%, recording a month-on-month decline of 25.42%.
