The Hungarian capital abounds with excellent fine dining spots, offering both local specialties and international cuisine, and showcasing the talent of the city’s top chefs. We take a look at 11 of the best restaurants in Budapest to make the most of a visit to the gastronomic city.
COSTES RESTAURANT
The story of Costes Restaurant started back in 2007 when the owners decided to transform the former restaurant that stood here into what you see today.
Before reopening Costes, the owners searched Europe high and low for the continent’s best suppliers, while the restaurant staff underwent rigorous training in France. In 2015 Costes took on head chef Eszter Palágyi after she’d opened Costas Downtown nearby.
In March 2010 Costes Restaurant received a star in the ‘Main Cities of Europe’ Michelin Guide, becoming the first Hungarian restaurant to receive such an honor and only the second in the Central European region. Costes continues to win local and international awards.
Stylish and elegant, Costes Restaurant is all about forgetting the outside world for a couple of hours. With no dress code, Costes offers a relaxed setting for you to enjoy top international cuisine with some delectable Hungarian touches. The service is flawless and friendly, and dishes are prepared with the finest fresh ingredients. Guest satisfaction is the number one priority at Costes and the team prides itself on giving an exceptional experience to everyone who walks through the door.
