Australia technology industry registered a 14.6% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 8.58% in July 2021 compared with June 2021.
Out of the technology industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 25.78% share in July 2021, recording an increase of 2.06% over the last three-month average share.

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.7% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia technology industry in July 2021.

Top five technology companies in Australia IT recruitment activity in July 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 54.97% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia technology industry during July 2021 over June 2021.
Wipro posted 75 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a rise of 56.25% over the previous month, followed by Cognizant Technology Solutions with 70 jobs and a flat growth. Accenture with 70 IT jobs and Infosys with 45 jobs, recorded a 75% growth and a 40.79% decline, respectively, while Microsoft recorded a 33.33% increase with 36 job postings during July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.41%, up by 18.75% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 27.64% share, a growth of 1.44% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.43% share, down 33.72% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.52%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
