Amazon Web Services (AWS), a subsidiary of US-based Amazon and provider of on-demand cloud computing services, has opened a new office in Kuwait. The new branch will serve customers and partners across Kuwait and the wider Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
The company will continue to work with Kuwait’s government bodies as part of the AWS Training and Certification programme, which supports the upskilling and retraining of the workforce in line with the latest cloud computing training curriculum.
Isabella Groegor-Cechowicz, vice-president of Europe, the Middle East and Africa for AWS Worldwide Public Sector, commented: “We are pleased to continue our investment in the MENA region with our latest office opening in Kuwait. The opening brings us even closer to our customers, including a number of Kuwait’s government agencies that are adopting cloud technologies to better serve citizens.”
The office opening supports the country’s digital transformation initiatives in line with Kuwait’s Vision 2035. It also complements AWS’s existing MENA offices in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
