Accenture has finalised the acquisition of Camelot Management Consultants, a Germany-based SAP-focused management and technology consulting services provider.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Initially announced in July 2024, this acquisition is aimed at bolstering Accenture’s capabilities in SAP and artificial intelligence (AI)-driven supply chain solutions, addressing the growing need for “intelligent and resilient” supply chains.

Camelot brings expertise in supply chain, data, and analytics, with its experience in these areas anticipated to speed up AI adoption within organisations.

Set up in 1996, Camelot operates as a SAP partner in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

The company serves clients across the chemicals, life sciences, consumer goods, and industrial manufacturing sectors and employs some 700 people.

With its headquarters in Mannheim, Germany, Camelot also operates in the US, United Arab Emirates, Poland, Spain, and Switzerland.

Camelot also maintains an office in India. However, due to local administrative requirements, the acquisition of the shares in Camelot’s India entity will be completed at a subsequent date.

At the time of announcement, Accenture technology lead Austria, Switzerland and Germany Tobias Regenfuss said: “Today, we are seeing a surge in demand for data and analytics services in supply chain management, strongly driven by increased market volatility and the need for companies to make their logistics more efficient.

“With our acquisition of Camelot, we will further enhance our capabilities and services to help our clients use technology to address complex and pressing business needs and drive additional value.”

In a separate development earlier in October 2024, Accenture Ventures invested in US-based cybersecurity company Reality Defender.

Founded in 2021, Reality Defender aims to combat deepfake-related cyber threats, offering solutions to counteract the risks associated with deepfakes and AI-manipulated content.
