The method also includes provisions for handling attach triggers following handovers and specifies that the attach request can be forwarded through a master evolved NodeB (MeNB).
Additionally, the patent details the structure of the attach request message, which comprises information elements for carrying both NR and LTE security capabilities, including universal mobile telecommunications system (UMTS) security capabilities.
