On 17 June, ADOBE announced it was bringing Firefly AI-powered features to Acrobat, which allows customers to create and edit images in PDFs via text prompts.
The GenAI update includes tools for the quick removal of an image’s background, an adjustment to the image’s size or a complete overhaul of an image’s style.
Acrobat users will now have full control over the images in their PDFs, the company said.
Senior vice president of Adobe Document Cloud, Abhigyan Modi, said the GenAI updates would allow customers to “transform information with the ease and speed of a simple prompt”.
The software company also announced updates to Acrobat’s AI Assistant. The upgraded assistant will now provide detailed insights into different themes and trends across a range of documents.
To ensure verification of the source and to allow for further research, the AI Assistant also includes citations, the company added.
