T-Mobile announced that it has been chosen to supply communications to the US Navy for ten years.

In a statement, the telco provider announced it had signed a contract with the US Navy worth $2.69bn.

This contract will enable the US Department of Defence to access T-Mobile’s 5G coverage, ensuring connectivity for military personnel and federal civilian agencies.

The contract includes providing voice, data, fixed wireless solutions, mobility management and Internet of Things.

The new contract replaces a previous one between T-Mobile and the US Government, which was signed in 2017. Since then, T-Mobile stated that its technological offerings have developed greatly and that its new contract reflects its progress.

David Bezzant, vice-president of sales for T-Mobile for government, stated that the contract was a testament to T-Mobile’s leadership in 5G technology.
