Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer XPeng has claimed it will sell flying cars to its customers by 2026.
In an interview with CNBC, Xpeng’s co-president Brian Gu stated that customers will be able to preorder flying cars from the company by the end of 2024.

Gu stated that Xpeng was confident in its flying car design, tailor-made for rural areas rather than busy city centres. Gu stated that this would make it easier for Xpeng to gain regulatory approval and that it could mean drivers may not need a special license for the vehicles.
“… We will work with municipalities to create flying parks and flying zones that allow people to enjoy flying without the hassle of getting all the complicated approvals,” he said in interview to CNBC.
Xpeng also has plans for its flying car, the Land Aircraft Carrier, to become available at the end of 2025.
Xpeng first unveiled the Land Aircraft Carrier in February this year.

In May 2023, Brazilian electric plane manufacturer Eve Holding successfully conducted a wind tunnel test of its vertical take-off and landing vehicle.
Following the wind tunnel test, Eve Holding stated that it wanted to commercially launch the product by 2026.
After announcing the news, Eve Holding reported that it had already received over 3,000 preorders for the flying car.
