August 2021 has seen an increase of 1.82% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 33.81% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2021, registering a decrease of 0.82% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 69.76% in August 2021, a 2.73% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 9.66% in August 2021, marking a 12.5% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 8.98% in August 2021, a 4.17% drop from July 2021.

Top five technology companies in Middle East & Africa’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 19.37% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s technology industry during August 2021 over previous month.
Dell Technologies posted 82 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered an increase of 1.23% over the previous month, followed by Vodafone Group with 80 jobs and a 95.12% growth. Fiverr International with 73 IT jobs and Orange with 59 jobs, recorded a 17.74% rise and a 3.28% drop, respectively, while Microsoft recorded a 15.38% increase with 45 job postings during August 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s technology industry
Israel commanded a leading presence in the region’s technology industry IT hiring activity with a 52.2% share in August 2021, a 17.57% decrease over July 2021. Egypt featured next with a 10.73% share, down 5.98% over the previous month. Morocco recorded a 7.32% share, a growth of 120.59% compared with July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.51%, up by 5.51% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 21.37% share, registered a growth of 7.88% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 15.02% share, down 7.78% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.1%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
