Apple announces Q3 earnings
After reporting $13.8bn in second quarter profit in May, tech giant Apple will release its Q3 results today.

A conference call is set to take place tonight at 10pm London time to discuss the results. The call will be live-streamed via the Apple Investors website this evening.
Q3 is generally a quiet one for Apple. It is usually the smallest for earnings as iPhone sales drop off. However, investors will be hoping Apple’s top executives drop some hints about the next iPhone, as CEO Tim Cook has done in past earnings reports.
Barring catastrophic results, like those that saw Facebook’s value drop by $120bn in 24 hours last week, Apple could today become the first company to be valued at $1trn. Apple’s market capitalisation currently stands at $955bn.
Paul Manafort faces possible 305-year prison sentence
Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort today faces charges of bank fraud, tax evasion and conspiracy as part of the Robert Mueller’s special investigation unit’s look into Russian meddling during the 2016 United States presidential election.

The case against Manafort relates to his work as an adviser to Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska and pro-Kremlin forces in Ukraine. He has been accused of evading US taxes on a total of $30m that he received for working with these parties.
Manafort denies all of the charges against him. However, he faces a prison sentence of up to 305 years if found guilty.
Trump travels to Sunshine State
The President of the United States Donald Trump will today travel to Tampa, Florida, to speak at a rally to show his support to Republican candidates Brett Kavanaugh, Rick Scott, Matt Gaetz and Ron DeSantis in the upcoming midterm elections, to be held on 6 November.
Aside from the elections, Trump is also expected to discuss wider issues such as the US economy and foreign policy.
It is unconfirmed what time Trump will take to the stage, but the rally will begin at midnight London time. Prior to that, Trump will discuss education at Tampa Bay Tech as part of a round table talk.
